Habitat for Humanity

All reusable construction debris we collect is transported and donated to Ottawa’s Habitat for Humanity. Not only are we helping the environment and keeping materials out of local landfills, we are also supporting a wonderful local organization.Learn more about Habitat for Humanity.



City of Ottawa’s "Take It Back!" program

Capital Junk is proud to be a member of the Take It Back! program for the city. For a minimal rate, we will pick-up and dispose of your unwanted appliances, scrap metal, old tires, computers and other hard to dispose of items efficiently, and most importantly, properly. This is part of our continued commitment to helping make Ottawa a "green" city!



Free E-Waste Drop Off Day

In today’s society, the amount of electronic waste (known as e-waste) is rapidly growing and there is an increasing concern about the proper disposal ways of such items. They cannot be properly broken down in landfills, and the City of Ottawa no longer accepts these items for trash pickup at all.

Capital Junk is holding a 'FREE E-WASTE DROP OFF' event on October 29, 2011 to show our support to the environment. All items dropped off were transported to local e-waste facilities for reuse, refurbishment, or recycling. Some of the previously-loved items we collected at the drop off included: Computer monitors and towers, Keyboards, Printers, Copiers, Fax Machines, IT Equipment, Scanners, and Stereo Equipment.

There was a great turn out last year, staff had a lot of fun, and were very impressed to see so many local Ottawa residents participate and demonstrate their commitment in making our nation’s capital a greener place to live. Once again, we look forward to your support Ottawa!



Fall Cleaning the Capital 2011

The Capital Junk team is a supporter of the local Ottawa community. In an ongoing effort to maintain the cleanliness of our beautiful city and demonstrate the pride we take in serving our Nation’s capital, Capital Junk will again volunteered in Fall Cleaning the Capital. Our trucks went out to Sarsaparilla Trail again this year to help clean up garbage and other various debris.


River Keeper Ottawa

Founded in 2001, Ottawa Riverkeeper is a grassroots charity formed to protect,promote and improve the health and future of the Ottawa River and its tributaries. The Ottawa River provides drinking water to over 1,000,000 residents, is part of the worlds largest freshwater ecosystem and flows through our nations capital.Our support to this program is part of Capital Junk's continued commitment to helping make Ottawa a "green" city!



Ottawa Home & Garden Show

The Capital Junk team took part in the 31st annual Ottawa Home & Garden Show took place at Lansdowne Park. Capital Junk was excited to participate for our 2nd year. It again was a really great turn out, we had such a super time there and appreciate everyone who stopped by to say hello!


Free E-Waste Pickup Days in support of The Ottawa Food Bank

Capital Junk On November 28th and 29th will be collecting e-waste from Ottawa residents and businesses, we kindly ask for a $20.00 donation in lieu of removal costs. At the end of the 2 days Capital Junk will be matching all donations collected.
