Capital Junk has taken a positive stand towards helping the environment!

Any good, quality household or office item such as furniture, books, clothing, dishes and so on, are donated to local Ottawa charities; metal is seperated and recycled as well as any paper and cardboard that we collect.  We are also able to recycle wood and old car tires.  We also provide appliance removal and transport those items to local recycling centres for proper disposal.

With the amount of time our trucks spend on the road, we only thought it made sense to use a fuel that doesn't harm the environment like regular commercial gas.  So another way Capital Junk is "Going Green" is by filling our trucks with Bio-Diesel, a more environmentally-friendly fuel.

Capital Junk is happy to announce that over 89 tons of waste was diverted from landfills last month alone.  We are proud of our amazing staff for doing an outstanding job on the trucks, sorting and diverting a massive amount of materials away from our local landfill sites. As well, we encourage all of our customers to become a part of the City of Ottawa’s “Take It Back!" program.  It is a program that allows residential customers to return "hard to dispose of items"  to retailers and companies once those items are no longer used.  The Take It Back! partners ensure that these items are recycled, reused or disposed of in a way that is safe for the environment.
